OPERA CLUB ACTIVITIES

If you enjoy browsing though our web site, why not consider joining the New England Opera Club? Ours is an unpretentious group. Our Members love opera whether it is from the perspective of a life long passion or a newly discovered fascination.

Our primary goal is to promote "the art" and support the performances of quality opera in New England. To these ends, we hold regular monthly programs devoted to the many aspects of opera for the enjoyment of opera "buffs" regardless of their level of expertise. There are visits to local universities and conservatories, opera performances, gourmet dinner parties, and the annual Jacopo Peri Award Gala.

OPERA CLUB TAX EXEMPTION
The New England Opera Club has been classified under section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue code as a tax exempt organization. All contributions, both cash and gifts, are deductible to the full extent on the law for the year it was given. The fair market value of gifts must be determined by the donor or a qualified appraiser. The club is not allowed by the IRS to provide appraisals.

The New England Opera Club is also exempt from paying the Massachusetts State sales tax for purchases made by the club for the club.

OPERA CLUB BULLETIN
We publish a bulletin each month which not only announces the time, date, and location of our next meeting but also includes a very complete list of operas to be performed in the area, on TV and on the radio. It frequently features opera quizzes, reviews, catoons and articles. All members receive this timely information by mail each month.

SPEAKERS ROSTER
There can be no event more interesting and delightful than one featuring opera. The beautiful music, the magic of the human voice, the dramatic (and melodramatic) situations all combine to offer a real change from the routine. Many of our members, who are both articulate and knowledgeable, present interesting programs on all aspects of opera enhanced by CDs and videos. Social clubs, business groups, retirement centers, and similar organizations can make a change from the same routine programing and enjoy one with the beauty and fascination of Opera. If you would like to consider this type of program for your group, have a chat with our president Mr. John M. Tischio. He is available at (978) 535-1796 or at: operainfo@neoperaclub.org
